Nokia has launched a mobile TV channel, Capsule N96, offering bite-sized chunks of entertainment and lifestyle programming, including homes, fashion, motoring and design, all of which run to 96 seconds. The Capsule N96 mobile entertainment service will feature some top names from the world of UK entertainment with gadgets, comedy and culture content also on offer.
The launch of Capsule N96 comes as part of the launch for the Nokia N96 smart phone in the UK, which is a direct upgrade to the Nokia N95. The N96 is positioned as a rival to Blackberry and the Apple iPhone, with features including rounded corners and a sleeker overall design, a five megapixel camera and 16GBs of internal memory. Initially released on O2, the Nokia N96 is expected to be launched on further UK networks in the near future.
The launch of the mobile channel is designed to reflect the innovation of the Nokia N96 as an entertainment device. Simon Ainslie, managing director of Nokia UK, said: "The quick-fire and exciting programming that forms Capsule N96 really reflects the dynamic nature of the Nokia N96 and its users. Watching great content is no longer inherently linked to your living room. Great devices like Nokia N96 allow you to decide what content and when, so the opportunities are endless on where to watch new shows and old favourites alike."
